In collaboration with David Murphy, we are pleased to present an edition of 15 unique paintings, sold to benefit the British Red Cross to help those affected by the Coronavirus pandemic worldwide.

These 15 paintings were made by the artist in his London studio during the UK lockdown. Many layers of casein paint with natural pigments are meticolously applied by hand, building up fine layers of green hues. The effect evokes a woven blanket and reveals the artist's long-standing interest in textiles. The paintings transform what is solid into a softer, more elastic notion of geometry.

David Murphy (b.1983, Newcastle Upon Tyne) lives and works in London. He received the Kenneth Armitage Foundation Fellowship and has been shortlisted for both the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize and Jerwood Drawing Prize. He has created large scale commissions for the National Trust, The Dales Museum and Edinburgh Sculpture Workshops. His recent large scale public sculpture, The Blanket, was unveiled in collaboration with Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Piece Hall in Halifax, an 18th Century former cloth hall. He has also completed a public sculpture commission for Oxford House, Oxford Street, which will be unveiled in 2021.
