Heidi Bucher, Gordon Matta-Clark is a publication that brings together the two pioneering artists. Published on the occasion of their exhibition FLOORS at ALMA ZEVI, Venice, Italy. The catalogue gathers archival photographs taken in the 1970s (some of which have never been reproduced before) and offers an insight into the artists' respective creative processes. Heidi Bucher can be seen, in her own words, 'skinning' the walls and floors of her studio in Zurich, while Gordon Matta-Clark's proof prints for the series Bronx Floors document his iconic interventions. This publication reminds us of the importance of original documentation to appreciate both Bucher and Matta-Clark's practices, which are ephemeral, site-specific, and performative.
